Thanks & Giving
The World of Song Children’s Benefit Concert Founded in 2001
Kids Helping Kids
World of Song is committed to giving back to the community and teaching young children the importance of ‘helping others’. It continues to be a very meaningful experience producing and performing in this yearly concert for charity, during the holiday season, since dedicating the first one to the “Victims of 911 Families” back in December of 2001.
“Thank & Giving”, the ‘World of Song Children's Holiday Benefit Concert’ has historically taken place annually in late November or early December. WOSCHBC promotes the concept of “Kids Helping Kids In Need”. Parents, grandparents, caregivers with their children attend the 90 minute - 2-hour event where they enjoy a joyful musical program that includes lots of audience participation, storytelling, arts & craft time refreshments, and sharing with others. Funds are raised through an admission fee for the performance and activities, and through other sale items and/or raffles at the event.
Each charity selected is dedicated to serving the needs of children, and their families, in various ways: crisis support, educational and artistic opportunities, housing, therapeutic and social services, research on illness or disease, treatment and so much more. The concerts also strive to bring the publics' s attention to smaller charitable organizations and non-profits within their local communities. All performers generously donate their talents and time, venue sites often donate their spaces, or request a nominal rental fee, and kindly offer PR support to this cause, for which I am deeply grateful. All proceeds from the concert go to the sponsored organization to help achieve their mission and support their goals.
2026 marks WOS’s partnership with the Park Ave Community Center and The Creative Living Room youth programming as part of the 2nd Saturday Series.
“It is love that awakens the spirit of ‘thanks & giving’! WOS celebrates life and the awareness of music’s healing effect of lifting us up at any moment whatever our circumstances, while connecting children to caring for our community. ”

Life took over; helping my future mother-in-law move from her home of 40+ years into a retirement community, her subsequent diagnosis with Alzhiemers, preparation for my wedding and marriage in the fall ’03, then moving into a new apartment, and... a year later in fall ’04 moving once again permanently from NY to PA to help take care of my mother-in-law and be closer to her. That fall I finally settled into my new life in the suburbs of Philadelphia and began getting to know my community and sharing my work with children.
