Swarthmore's Annual Halloween Tots Parade
Friday, October 30th @ 4:00 pm It’s "Time"Halloween Time in Swarthmore! Kids 0 – 6 years (siblings welcome!) are invited to come dressed up in costume and enjoy parading through downtown to the delight of passersby and shop merchants ready to greet you with goodies for trick or treat. (Please no very scary costumes or weapons.) Starting point will be at THATCHER PARK, known as the “Tot Lot”, on Rutgers Avenue at 4pm. The parade will end with a fun, short story time at the Swarthmore Public Library/Borough Bldg. If raining please come directly to the library at 121 Park Ave for an indoor parade and storytime. Interactive Art Stroll for Kids in Media
Turn around and what to do you see -
a Picasso looking at me!
Join me for “Go Inside Out”, a kid friendly art stroll of select masterpieces from ‘inside the Philadelphia Museum of Art brought out’ and into our community. The interactive walking tour, geared for young children 2 – 7, will include songs, coloring/drawing, kids yoga, “I Spy” games, and improvised stories on the spot, relating to 7 out of the 11 installations on display throughout the town of Media. Children will receive a souvenir bag and need to be accompanied by an adult.
The tours are free and open to the public and families are welcome to bring a picnic to enjoy at the conclusion of each event. No Reservations Necessary.
All tours begin at the Plum Street Mall at Jasper Street.
Bring water, strollers, hats, comfortable shoes, and get ready to GO Inside Out!

Through yoga poses and play we'll discover what other creatures they encounter on their way... dolphins, sea horses, crabs, jellyfish, sharks and ride a wave or two. As night falls their soothing songs will lull us to sleep just in time for bed.

Join with Allison at this concert fundraiser for Center for Autism Research in bringing children together in support of other children in need while enjoying classic holiday tunes. Prance like reindeer, spin like dreidles, ride a sleigh and much more.... all warming the heart in the spirit of "thanks and giving". Accompanied by guitarist Charlie Phillips and percussionist Al Cochran, Allison uses instruments, puppets, stories and art creating a joyfully interactive, celebratory event. CAR's primary mission is to understand the causes of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and develop effective treatments through research with infants through adults. Families who participate receive comprehensive assessment reports and are paid for their time and some travel expenses. CAR is also committed to serving the needs of families living with ASD through education and guidance. The new CAR Autism Roadmap seeks to help families answer questions about life with autism, whether they are new to the diagnosis or have lived with it for years, as well as connect them with resources in their communities via the CAR Resource Directory.

"Helping Hands" Make Art & Launch E- Waste Recycling Program Saturday, OCTOBER 18 @ 4PM Swarthmore Coop~COMMUNITY EVENT Calling All Kids! Swarthmore Coop is looking for children and community members to help paint their E-Waste Recycling trailer by making flowers from children's 'hand prints'.
