In this collaborative workshop, we’ll discover dynamic ways to connect kid friendly yoga and inspired creative movement into the classroom, enhancing curriculum goals and lesson plans. Through playful interactions, we’ll explore interweaving open-ended movement and yoga with music, songs, stories, dance, games and art that promotes learning on deeper levels, and builds life skills. Benefits, such as kinesthetic, cognitive, social, and emotional development are a natural extension with this multi-discipline approach. The workshop will also introduce easy yoga poses and breath exercises to focus, energize or calm.....
Please Note: This is an interactive workshop. Participants are invited to engage at their own pace in movement demonstrations and activities. No experience is necessary. Wear comfortable clothes and shoes; we may be using the floor at times. Presentation is geared for early childhood: pre-school teachers, librarians, parents and caregivers working with toddlers through K-1. Optional: Bring a song, prop, favorite book, or idea you would like to re-invent to bring back to your classroom. Supplemental materials will be provided.
