Annual Children's Holiday Benefit Event
About “Thanks & Giving”– WOS’ Annual Charity Event
KIDS HELPING KIDS IN NEED
It is love that awakens the spirit of 'thanks & giving’ and it is with this awareness WOS celebrates life and joy through music, as well as the power and beauty of the arts to lift us up at any moment, whatever our circumstances, while also connecting us to each other within the greater family of our neighborhoods, communities… and world.
- Allison DeSalvo, Founder and Artistic Director of World of Song
Love is the only reality.
-Cheryl Stoll, Star Wisdom Teaching, Artistic Director, Artist Healer
Celebrating 17 years in 2022!
World of Song is committed to giving back to the community and teaching young children the importance of ‘helping others’. It continues to be a very meaningful experience producing and performing in this yearly concert for charity, during the holiday season, since dedicating the first one to the “Victims of 911 Families” back in December of 2001.
“Thank & Giving”, the ‘World of Song Children's Holiday Benefit Concert’ (WOSCHBC) takes place annually in late November or early December. WOSCHBC promotes the concept of “Kids Helping Kids In Need”. Parents, grandparents, caregivers with their children attend the 90 minute - 2-hour event where they enjoy a joyful musical program that includes lots of audience participation, storytelling, arts & craft time refreshments, and sharing with others. Funds are raised through an admission fee for the performance and through other sale items and/or raffles at the event.
Each charity selected is dedicated to serving the needs of children, and their families, in various ways: crisis support, educational and artistic opportunities, housing, therapeutic and social services, research on illness or disease, treatment and so much more. The concerts also strive to bring the publics' s attention to smaller charitable organizations and non-profits within their local communities. All performers generously donate their talents and time, venue sites often donate their spaces, or request a nominal rental fee, and kindly offer PR support to this cause, for which I am deeply grateful. All proceeds from the concert go to the sponsored organization to help achieve their mission and support their goals.
I sincerely thank all the families who have attended this concert/event or donated to our online fundraisers (due to covid) over these last 16 years and hope and trust we can build upon this foundation in the future! ~ Love and Light, Allison
