Music, Art & Me (MAM)

A delightfully interactive and energetic class presented in a loving atmosphere of learning and joy. Young children explore songs, music, movement, games, dancing, stories, simple art projects and dramatic play stimulating development and social skills while sparking imaginations and encouraging creativity. Themes that are fun and educational are explored through age appropriate activities which incorporate puppets, parachutes, balls, books, musical instruments and more! Providing individual attention to address children’s emotional needs these special classes are also a great way to prepare your youngster for preschool. Includes art making materials and digital download of Allison's songs for the session!

- Age Specific Options Available: 12 - 18 months, 19 - 24 months, 1 - 2 years, 2 - 4/5 and 0 - 5 years etc. - see current schedule

Music, Art & Me Family
Ages 0 - 5 or 6 years/ or 2 - 5 years (mixed age ranges flexible, classes not available each session)
Experience the joy of music as a family. Young children explore singing songs, musical concepts with a variety of instruments, rhythms, listening games and creative movement activities stimulating development and innate musical response. Stories and simple art projects illustrate fun themes each week. This class incorporates engaging age appropriate props and encourages children of all ages to interact together and at their own pace while learning from each other in a positive and playful ways promoting self expression, growth and family fun. Children can be accompanied by more than one adult, all family members welcome.

What is the Music, Art & Me Program?
MAM is founded, designed and taught by Allison DeSalvo who started this popular program while living in her own neighborhood of Park Slope, Brooklyn back in 1993. Over the last 30 years, MAM has continued to provide families with unique classes that give young children numerous opportunities to connect with their innate creative instincts through: songs, music, movement, dance, art, storytelling and dramatic play :)
The Music, Art & Me Program (MAM) is an exceptionally creative recreational and educational program of interactive classes for children based on their development, (infant – 6 years), their parents and caregivers that enriches young hearts and minds, encourages a child’s emerging development and prepares them for preschool. Children explore and discover about themselves and the world around them through music, movement, art and stories presented in a loving atmosphere of learning and joy. A variety of music and props, musical instruments, puppets, parachutes, balls and more are used in all classes. Traditional and original children’s songs, multicultural folk songs, classical and ethnic music from different genres nourishes and stimulates children on all levels enabling them to feel the joy of the arts while learning to relate to other children in a classroom environment. Early development such as physical and vocal participation, imagination, cooperative play and social skills, independence and friendships emerge as a natural process.
All children and caregivers are given the space to engage at their own pace. Care and attention is given to classroom transitions and individual dynamics that help each child trust, learn and grow at whatever stage they are at.
