I was honored that my dear old friend, Kuang Yu Fong, from our days as students at NYU, invited me to join the team to teach children in a innovative camp outside Nanjing, China this summer. It was an amazing experience, one I will treasure forever! I will look forward to sharing about it with you soon with the launch of my "Blog" page. Coming Soon ~ POSTCARD FROM CHINA!

FUN CRAFT IDEA:
Materials: small paper plate or paper bowl. green paint and brush or green and brown markers, small piece of green or brown tissue paper, glue, green construction paper, stapler, google yes or black marker.
Instructions:
1. Lay down some paper to protect your work surface.
2. Flatten edges of paper plate or bowl and have children color with markers or paint the top of the plate/bowl to color it green and brown. (adding other colors is fine too ;)
3.Cut out feet and arms and a head as seen in photos. Kids can color these as well if they like.
4. Once plate is ready or paint dry, turn plate/bowl over and staple on head and arms and legs.
5. Cut a rectangle shaped band out of light cardboard to staple to both sides of plate/bowl. Band is how the child will hold the turtle puppet to play with it. Play my "Turtle World" song use dim lights, a soft sheet or long nylon scary to make waves and enjoy swimming and moving like a turtle in your make-believe world at home or in your garden or yard! Enjoy!
